The BSN has no national clinical-hour count. What you need depends on your path.

Overview

What this policy covers

This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. BSNPreceptor is an independent service that may help when a current baccalaureate nursing course explicitly permits or requires a student-proposed person or site. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for any university, and final approval rests with the program.

Traditional and accelerated prelicensure clinical placements are generally program-coordinated. Students should use that process. This policy applies when you contact us about a course that explicitly permits or requires an independent search, as described on how it works.

Collection

What we collect

We collect only what we need to understand your situation and arrange a placement. That falls into two groups: the details you give us directly, and standard technical data from visiting the site.

Details you give us

  • Your name.
  • Your email address.
  • Your phone number.
  • Your program and path, for example RN-to-BSN or a prelicensure track.
  • Your state, so we can look for a site where you can practice.
  • What you tell us about your needs, such as your required field-experience hours, timing, setting preferences, and any constraints.

Standard technical data

Like most websites, we collect basic technical data when you visit, such as your device and browser type, general location inferred from your connection, pages you view, and how you reached the site. We use this to keep the site working and to understand general usage, not to build a profile of you.

Use

How we use your information

We use your information only to source and coordinate a placement and to follow up with you about it. We do not sell it. We share it only with the parties needed to arrange a placement, such as a prospective site or preceptor, and only what those parties need to consider your request.

For example, to find a match we may share your program, path, state, and required hours with a site or a preceptor we are approaching on your behalf. We will not share your details more broadly than that. Any match is never guaranteed, and your program still has the final say on approval, which is described further on how it works.

  • To review your request and understand what kind of field experience you need.
  • To approach prospective sites and preceptors that may be a fit.
  • To coordinate the details of a placement once there is interest.
  • To follow up with you by email or phone about your request.
  • To operate, secure, and improve the website using standard technical data.

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for unrelated advertising. We share it only with the parties involved in arranging your placement.

Your choices

Your choices and control

You can ask us to update or delete your information at any time. Reach out through contact and tell us what you would like changed or removed, and we will take care of it.

  • Update: ask us to correct or change any detail you have shared.
  • Delete: ask us to remove your information from our records.
  • Opt out of follow-up: ask us to stop contacting you about your request.

We keep your information only as long as needed to help with your placement and any related follow-up, or as required by law. When it is no longer needed for those purposes and we are not required to retain it, we remove it.

More

Learn more about the service

If you want to understand the field experience itself before sharing your details, these pages explain the path and the numbers without any obligation:

Request a preceptor

Tell us the current BSN course. We'll review the fit.

Outside sourcing applies only when the current program explicitly permits or requires a student-proposed preceptor, mentor, or site. An advisor reviews the course instructions before candidate sourcing begins.

We do not guarantee placement. Final approval rests with your program.
